1. Who is responsible

Speak English: Essential Grammar is published by Velixy, the trading name of Md Mehedi Hasan, sole proprietor, of Village Shakdah (Uttar Para), Post Penchibari, Dhunat, Bogra 5850, Bangladesh. For any privacy question about this App, contact creativecleancode@gmail.com.

This policy covers the App only. The privacy policy for the velixy.app website is separate, and each other app we publish has its own policy.

2. Scope

The App's Android package identifier is app.velixy.essentialenglishgrammer. The App provides an English grammar and speaking course, listed on Google Play as “Speak English: Learn Grammar”: 43 lessons in four levels from beginner to upper-intermediate, practice exercises, listening with built-in voices, speaking practice, everyday phrases and role-play conversations, grammar notes, optional Bangla explanations, streaks, badges, a certificate, and an optional daily reminder. The App is free and supported by advertising. It has no accounts and no in-app purchases.

3. Information handled by the App

You can use the App without creating an account or directly providing your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or payment card details to Velixy.

4. What the App does not do

The App has no accounts, no in-app purchases, and no analytics or crash reporting of our own, and Velixy runs no servers for it, so nothing you type, say, or learn in the App is sent to us. It does not request access to your microphone, location, contacts, camera, photos, or files, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your information.

The App connects to the internet only for advertising, which Google AdMob provides and which is described below. Lessons, voices, and exercises are built into the App and work offline.

If you email us, we receive your email address and your message and use them only to reply to you and deal with what you raised.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. You may see a banner at the bottom of some screens and inside lesson pages, a full-screen ad at a natural break such as after you finish a lesson, a practice workout, or a conversation, and occasionally an ad when you return to the App. Full-screen ads are spaced at least a minute apart. A rewarded ad is shown only if you choose to watch one for bonus XP.

To show, limit, and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may process your device's advertising ID or other device identifiers, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. On supported Android versions Google may also use Android's privacy-preserving advertising features, such as Topics and attribution. The exact data depends on your device, region, consent choices, and Google settings. Ads are limited to content suitable for teenagers (rated PG or below).

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the App asks for your consent using Google's consent tool before any ad is requested, and you can change your choice at any time under Profile › Settings › Ad privacy choices. Velixy does not receive the data Google collects for advertising.

6. Speaking practice

Some exercises ask you to say a sentence aloud. When you tap the microphone button, the App opens your phone's own speech recogniser, usually provided by Google, which listens and returns the words it heard as text. The App itself never records or receives audio and does not have the microphone permission. The recogniser is a separate app on your phone, and its handling of your voice is governed by its provider's privacy policy and your device settings.

The App compares the returned text with the sentence on your device to check your answer, then discards it. It keeps only a count of how many sentences you have spoken, for your stats and badges.

7. Voices and listening

The App reads English aloud with a natural American or British voice that is built into the App and runs entirely on your phone, so the text it speaks never leaves your device. If you choose Phone voice in Settings, or if the built-in voice cannot run on your phone, the App uses your phone's text-to-speech engine instead, which is part of your phone's software and governed by its provider.

8. Device permissions

PermissionWhy it is used
NotificationsOnly for the optional daily practice reminder, which you turn on in Settings. Reminders are scheduled on your phone.
Internet and network stateLoad ads. Added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK; the App's lessons do not need a connection.
Advertising ID and Android ad servicesLet Google AdMob show and measure ads, as described above. Added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
Keep awake and background workAdded by Android's WorkManager library, which the App uses to schedule the daily reminder.

The App does not request microphone, location, camera, contacts, or storage permissions.

9. Local storage and Android backup

Your name, buddy, learning progress, and settings are saved in the App's private storage on your phone using Android DataStore. Other apps cannot read it, and we have no way to access it.

Android backup is enabled. If backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include your progress and settings in the backup it keeps in your Google account, and may copy them when you move to a new phone. Google runs this service, not Velixy, and we cannot access it. The App's voice files are left out of backups.

10. Sharing your certificate

When you finish the course you can share a short message about your result. It is sent only when you tap Share and choose an app or person yourself, and the privacy policy of the app you choose then applies. The App does not share anything automatically.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR (EU and UK) or California's CCPA give you rights to access, correct, and delete your personal data and to object to its use. Everything the App stores is on your phone, where you can view, change, or delete it yourself as described above. Data processed for advertising is held by Google, which provides its own tools to exercise these rights. You are welcome to contact us with any question.

12. Children's privacy

The App is a general-audience learning app and is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age where you live. It has no accounts, chat, or social features, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that concerns you, contact us.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a future version of the App handles data differently, we will update this policy and the App's Google Play Data safety information before that version is released.

14. Your choices

  • In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, change your ad consent in Profile › Settings › Ad privacy choices.
  • Reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads (the name varies by phone), and manage ad personalisation in Google My Ad Center.
  • Use the App offline: lessons keep working and no new ads load.
  • Speaking exercises are optional: skip them, or manage your phone's speech recogniser in Android Settings (for example Google › Voice).
  • Turn the daily reminder off in Profile › Settings, or turn off notifications for the App in Android Settings.
  • Change your name in Profile, and delete your stars, XP, streak, and saved mistakes with Profile › Settings › Reset my progress.
  • Erase everything by clearing the App's storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the App.
  • Turn Android backup off in your phone's settings under Google › Backup (the name varies by phone).

15. Retention and deletion

Your progress and settings stay on your phone until you reset your progress, clear the App's storage, or uninstall it. A copy in your Google account backup is kept according to your backup settings and Google's retention rules. Google keeps advertising data according to its own policies.

16. Security

Your data is kept in the App's private storage, which other apps cannot read. The App's own features make no network requests; Google AdMob uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) to load ads. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we recommend using a screen lock and keeping Android up to date.
