Velixy builds software for a living and teaches it for the same reason — both come down to making something complicated understandable enough that other people can rely on it.

Our client work is mobile and the systems behind it: native Android applications in Kotlin, native iOS applications in Swift, and the backends, APIs and data models those applications depend on. We take projects from an empty repository through to a live store listing, and we take over existing codebases that have outgrown the structure they started with.

Velixy is deliberately small. You talk to the engineer writing the code, not to an account manager relaying questions, and that is the main reason clients come back.

Teaching, writing and mentoring

Alongside client projects we write books, publish programming videos on YouTube and run live online classes. That teaching work has reached thousands of students. It is not a side note on this page — it is a service you can buy, whether as one-to-one mentoring, a cohort class, or in-house training for a team that needs to get productive in a new stack quickly.

It also makes the engineering better. Explaining a design decision to a beginner is the fastest way to find out whether it was actually a good one.

How we prefer to work

Scope agreed in writing before anything starts. Milestones you can see rather than a status report you have to trust. And the intellectual property in everything we deliver becomes yours on final payment — that is in the terms, not just a promise.

Published products

Street-Smart Kids: Parent Guide is a published Android app on Google Play with 101 child-safety scenarios, quizzes, progress tracking and achievements, built end to end including the offline data layer, billing, ads and store release. It is the clearest single example of the work described on this site.
